Championing the downcast

Early in November we hosted and arranged a conference day for very poor pastors and leaders in the communities to the west of Rwanda by invitation of Pastor John. Many travel a long way from villages where they have Churches amongst poorer people.

Bishop Aloysius who attended the day writes “the wilderness we are in should not discourage us because even Jesus went through it and was not discouraged by the devil, but later he triumphed over Satan. So we will also overcome.'“

There are often so many conferences put on in the city that you can attend. The leaders we have a heart for would struggle to be able to afford to get to the city and it would be impossible for them to afford to stay overnight. Hence we are working with local leaders to arrange something closer, we help them to travel and provide food on the day. That’s the least we can do for those who serve so faithfully but feel forgotten.

We had several speakers each taking a seminar, including myself, Richard, along with Kate Jack and Phil Wilson. Each one of us brings a unique slant on growth, development and faith. I have already planned a training for next year as I can see the impact these days have for those who come. As the leaders join together they are encouraged finding strength through the challenges they face by learning from each other.

These days enable the pastors and leaders to go back to their extremely poor areas and share the teaching amongst those very poor people they serve. As they apply the sessions to their own personal lives inner transformation comes which will impact the external community for good bringing vision and hope of a future.

Thank you to those of you who give to enable these days to go ahead. They make such a big difference to those of the ground. Keep praying as God leads us on.
