In our prayer groups recently we have been considering how the apostle Paul responded to life and have noted that he always held on to four principles which enabled him to remain strong in his faith even in the most extreme situations when he was beaten imprisoned, shipwrecked and continually falsely accused all because of his faith with action in Jesus. 

These secrets are found in Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

These are the lessons I have learned.

  1. Always focus our worship towards Jesus . We can start by waking in the morning and turn our heart ❤️ to him and continue this through out the day and see the difference it brings.

  2. Pray without ceasing,

    “And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

    Rejoice always,  pray continually,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

    Do not quench the Spirit.  Do not treat prophecies with contempt  but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5 :14- 22

  3. It’s good be creative as to how this can be, from kneeling to pray to lifting our hands and everything in between.

  4. In everything give thanks. Our souls often gravitate to think about what is not so good but we can set ourselves to search out what we can be thankful for.

  5. Think about good things or take notice of all the good things in life and tip the balance from bad thinking to good thinking .

We have so many good things to be thankful for after the first year of mission on the move including - giving to Uganda, Rwanda and India in the form of bible teaching, prayer, medical help and practical projects such training women to sew and enabling them to leave destructive lifestyles.

Also providing articles and podcasts that are going worldwide.

We are thankful for the lives of those we meet on the streets through our pop up outreach street life and for those across all walks of life who have received Alison’s latest book, Lift up your head. We are hearing that many unchurched are moved to look for Jesus after reading it. The people we have met in Prisons , Rehabs , Churches, and Bible College’s and outreach events.

So many people have been so generous in many ways prayerfully, practically and financially and all of that which has been given has gone to support and bless others like Bernadette and older lady whose house was falling down and has been restored, also she has received food and new clothes.

She was so thankful to all the givers and was most blessed that she had been noticed and thought about. An example to us all.
