Finding Freedom

Last month, we had the pleasure of graduating the ten women who been on the twelve month training course in learning to sew, make and repair clothes, bags and so on in Rwanda in this past year. A local Church runs the project on the ground and oversees the daily training.

Most of the women who come are very broken from life and the challenges they have been though with very little hope of making a change without some help. It is always amazing to see the changes that come for them over the year. I personally often zoom into their classroom to bring some teaching ( not on how to sew) I have very little idea on that but on the how to make changes in your life or some reflections about how God can help us in life - discipleship really.

On the graduation day both Richard and I were able to get online and be part of the day to say a word of well done and to announce that they were each being gifted with a sewing machine as well as a certificate. With a gift of a machine they can set up a small business from where they live. Much better than the former lifestyle they have come from.

It has been 13 years since we began this small but influential project through observing a fight amongst women on a street since. Since that time we have seen many women pass through the doors of training and become well in themselves and go on to lead a calmer life, run their small business and provide for their children. It’s always a pleasure to be able to keep this little project going. We plan to start a new intake in April so we are now repairing the machines and were needed buying some new ones after 13 years of wear and tear.

Thank you so much to those of you that support this project each month and those of you. I feel without this small but amazing little venture some of those women would not be here today. It is life changing and saving in so many ways, thank you for your great help.
