Freedom Project Graduation

We had a great day graduating the students from the Freedom Project in Kigali. We were able to be part of the day via zoom. Day to day the Church of Gods people run the project that exists to enable those caught in an addictive lifestyle can have a change of direction and find freedom on many levels.

Many of those who attend the course each find themselves trapped selling themselves to buy food for their children and pay the rent on where they live. Once in that cycle it can be very hard to leave despite having the will not to part of that world. This small project has amazed me over the years in as much that the women come and then work really hard to learn a new skill and often end up finding God during that year through the discipleship classes held as part of the program.

This year all ten women were able to be granted a machine by many who gave generously. This facilitates them being able to begin a small business in their home. We have already had some great stories from those who have embraced the new opportunity, they can now buy their children food, pay school fee’s and pay the rent as well as making and repairing clothes. This is so life giving and lifts the entire family out of poverty, impacting the next generations future.
