Life is so fragile
Any part of our life can change overnight. This lovely young woman in India had a sudden shock recently when her husband suddenly died, leaving her with three young children to feed and now no source of income to provide for her children. Her husband had been a field labourer but had struggled with drinking too much alcohol over the years meaning money would have been very tight for them to begin with.
In other cultures death can be perceived as a curse that has come to your family. This is turn can lead to the family being seen as cursed and therefore shamed by society and avoided at all costs so the curse doesn’t come on those you meet. Our hearts went out to this family knowing the peril they were left in. I know we can hear many stories like this but when something touches your heart and moves you to pray - then God is doing something.
The Church in India, with whom we do our Pastors training seminars through reached out to us for help. They have provided much care and support but the family needed some much needed supplies such as rice, oil and food and milk for the children as they are young. The youngest being only two months old. Thank you to those of you who made it possible to help this family recover. We are praying that she will be able to find some work to help her family ultimately and find healing from her loss.
Please pray for them as the local Church continues to support them.
