Moments of Joy

Over the last year we’ve been helping a church in Burundi to help support their community. They have a great vision and have themselves bought land to be able to produce crops, the land in time will support the community once it is more established. Some of those they support in the community are children who have passed through situations that have led them to be living with extended families. Over the year we have been able to enable the children to go to a local school and provide books, pencils and clothes when needed.

It’s been a pleasure to help the church get their farm up and running by sending fertiliser and seeds for crops to be produced. The Church plant and maintain the land and decide what crops and when to plant. It is a wonderful plan that involves the Church community to practically to show the of Jesus to the wider community. The crops are doing well and will be harvested in the near future.

Earlier in the year Pastor sent me some video of the children playing with footballs that they’ve made out of banana leaves tied up so we had the thought that we could give some footballs and skipping ropes to the children for Christmas so they can do community sport together as part of their social development. You can see from the photos how much they are enjoying having fun.

It’s a pleasure and delight to be able to be part of this pioneering and unique ministry alongside the a local Church bringing the message in such a practical way. The Pastor who oversee’s this enterprise also trains and equips evangelists and is frequently out with teams on the ground sharing the message of Gods love across Burundi.

Thank you to those of you who have supported the ministry in Burundi. You’ve done an amazing thing.
